Firecat Sprinkler Systems and the product system developed by Firecat has a number of distinct and competitive advantages in the Australian market place. This is the result of the technology focus and commitment to research and development that Firecat has robustly maintained since the company’s inception.
Now Firecat has produced a market leading domestic sprinkler system delivering a unique selling proposition to that market that contains significant competitive advantages. These are detailed as follows:
- The Firecat system is the only domestic sprinkler system currently on the market that connects to a normal water meter. Other products on the market at present are variations of commercial systems and connect directly to the water mains and therefore are more expensive and complex to install
- Many companies are using a variation of the commercial system in a domestic setting and therefore are up to 50% more expensive to install and cost more over the long term to maintain
- Through the innovative design of the Firecat system, installation is faster and more efficient on site
- The Firecat system has been designed to be able to be installed by a licensed plumber in only one day with up to sixteen sprinkler heads installed in this time frame
- The Firecat pipeline systems are more flexible than CPVC pipe and therefore provide efficiency of installation
- The loop system design ensures equal level of pressure is delivered to all sprinklers unlike many competitor products that have dead spots where pressure can be reduced
- Water meter connection kits do not require separate mains connections
- 90% of the Firecat components can be fully recycled which provides a sustainable value add
- Through the use of the Firecat system and in particular the piping specified, lower water usage is achieved compared to the larger diameter systems which therefore results in less water damage if activated
- As detailed in section 13.2, the domestic sprinkler systems and Firecat in particular preserves water and limits the environmental impact of fire through early fire suppression
OH/S benefits for responding emergency services including;
- Instant activation of a dedicated Fire Water Ring Main in the ceiling to suppress a fire via flush mount concealed and semi recessed sprinkler heads. Only the head above the fire will activate and suppress the flames until the arrival of fire services
- Automatic water redirection to the fire system when a sprinkler head activates
- "003" Key access to the Water Control Box with system pressure gauge and test port
- External "RED" flashing strobe and "FIRE" placard to assist emergency personnel with premises identification (to commercial Fire Control Room standards)
- Emergency Meeting Point identification placards located at the front of the property for residents and emergency responders
- Identification stickers inside the Electrical Power Distribution Box providing system details
- An internal equivalent to an Australian Standards Commercial Fire Panel with multiple zones and the acceptance of Heat... Smoke... and Thermal detection. A 3 day battery backup is standard and a transponder facility is also available
- A tailored Escape Plan and Safety Training package for residents
- A one touch system reset facility for responding personnel to ensure ease of operation and rapid restoration of the Fire Sprinkler System.
